History
The PLN was introduced on 1 January 1995 to replace the old Polish zloty (PLZ) at the ratio of 1:1000. Periods of hyperinflation after the collapse of the soviet system had destroyed the value of the PLZ.
The PLN was floated on 12 April 2000.
The PLN accounted for 0.6% of global FX turnover in April 2019.
